Swedish Massage
The most popular type of massage in the United States, it involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows in long flowing strokes to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation , decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.

Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is especially helpful for musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and physical exertion related injuries. Deep Tissue Massage can relieve chronic muscle tension, reduce inflammation, and break down scar tissue. Some of the same strokes from Swedish Massage are used, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. We understand that every person is unique in how they experience pressure, and even the same person often needs lighter or deeper pressure on different areas. The pressure will be adjusted based off your needs, and can include stretches or active release techniques to help improve range of motion in those trouble areas.
Deep Tissue Massage can relieve chronic muscle tension, reduce inflammation, and
breaks down adhesions and collagen fibers that can be caused as a result of scar tissue.

Thai Massage
Thai Massage (sometimes called Lazy Person's Yoga) employs stretches, muscle compressions, and rocking motions to increase flexibility while reducing stress and tension. Unlike most massage, Thai Massage does not use oil, and is typically done on a mat on the floor clothed in comfortable loose fitting pants and long sleeve shirt or athletic attire. This enables your therapist to easily move your limbs and torso into different stretches while kneading and pressing on your muscles.
